Homemade Caramels





1 cup Butter
1 cup Light Corn Syrup
2 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
Dash of salt

Melt butter in saucepan. Add sugar & salt.
Stir in corn syrup & mix well.
Gradually add sweetened condensed milk.
Cook and stir over medium heat to firm ball stage (245°), about 12 - 15 minutes.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.
Pour into buttered 9 x 9 x 2 pan.
Cool & cut into small squares. Wrap in parchment paper.
